As the 2014 Olympic Winter Games ended with a beautiful ceremony last Sunday, everyone at our ski shop in Manchester, NH was proud to know how well the U.S. ski and snowboarding teams performed. In earlier blogs, we’ve covered Hannah Kearney’s hopeful road to Sochi as well as the inspiring underdog story of Alex Deibold’s surprising bronze medal win, so to know that America’s finest skiing and snowboarding representatives did so well fills us with a warm glow amidst a cold winter.
A snowboarder without sponsorship, a Vermont native, a 27 year old who spent the last Winter Olympics in Vancouver waxing the snowboards of U.S. riders that beat him out to qualify for the 2010 Olympic Games, Alex Deibold wasn't exactly seen as a, "hot commodity," in this year's Olympic Games. No, he was seen as a kid just lucky enough to be there; someone as down to earth as many of the local riders we see here at our ski shop in Manchester, NH, but now, he's the New England underdog who was the only American to garner an Olympic medal in yesterday's snowboardcross final.

Far across the pond in Sochi, Russia, the 2014 Winter Olympic Games are underway and producing some surprising results. Backed by Burton Snowboards, the U.S. Snowboarding Team has currently collected two gold medals.
The 2014 U.S. Olympic Snowboarding Team has been provided with uniforms by Burton Snowboards for the upcoming Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. And, as the premier ski shop in NH, Ken Jones Ski Mart is proud to be stocked with so much new gear from Burton Snowboards as well.
