Skiing
It’s officially fall, which means there’s only one thing on our minds: Which ski mountain will be the first to open for the 2016/2017 season?
In the East, the race is on between Sunday River in Maine and Killington in Vermont to see which will open first, with both mountains typically trying to open for Halloween. Killington likes to brag about having the longest snow season in the East and Sunday River is anxious to help you find your #HappyPlace.
So, while we wait (im)patiently, here’s what we’re most pumped about at each mountain.
Sunday River – Maine
After completing their snowmaking test on September 24th, the wait for opening day at Sunday River has officially begun! Season passholders of Sunday River enjoy some seriously sweet benefits, like retail savings, lodging discounts, access to Sunday River’s sister mountains Loon in NH and Sugarloaf in Maine and more.
Killington – Vermont
Get a voucher for a 2-for-1 adult lift ticket when you sign up to receive emails from Killington. Voucher is valid from opening day through December 16, 2016. Sign up here!
Notable Mentions Out West
On the west coast, A-Basin and Loveland compete for season-long bragging rights as the first mountain to open.
Arapahoe Basin – Colorado
A-Basin offers some incredible specials on passes. No blackout dates, unlimited riding and more.
Loveland – Colorado
Loveland’s season pass deals are one of the best in the west. Passholders get discounts at the shop, lesson package deals and tons of more perks.
